Does CBAM reach you at all

Which sector do you export in?
Does your EU customer import 50 tonnes or more of covered goods in a year, counting everything they buy from everyone?

The threshold is per importer per year across all covered goods, not per shipment and not per supplier. Regulation (EU) 2025/2083.

What does the readiness percentage actually measure?

How many of the records a verifier will ask for you already hold. It is not a prediction of whether you will pass verification. It is a gap map, not a score.

Does 100 per cent readiness mean I am CBAM compliant?

No. It means your documentation is complete enough to hand to a verifier. Compliance itself depends on the verifier's assessment of your figures, which has not happened yet for anyone, because no CBAM verifiers are currently accredited anywhere in the EU.

What happens if I am below the 50 tonne threshold?

If your EU importer's total CBAM-covered imports across all suppliers stay under 50 tonnes a year, they have no CBAM obligation at all, and none of this applies to that relationship. It is assessed at the importer level rather than per shipment, so it is worth confirming with your buyer rather than assuming either way.
